District announces Wyoming Science Fair winners

A out-and-out of 110 students from Natrona, Converse and Platte
counties competed in the Natrona County School Neighbourhood Science
Fair, held Feb. 4, 2012, at Verda James Fundamental School.
Students were eligible to participate in 17 different categories
— animal sphere, behavioral and social sciences, biochemistry,
cellular and molecular biology, chemistry, computers, mould and
planetary sciences, engineering, electrical and mechanical
engineering, materials and bioengineering, drive and
transportation, environmental management, environmental sciences,
mathematics, remedy and health sciences, microbiology, physics
and astronomy, and plant sciences.
Forty-six students in the fourth and fifth grades entered
projects in the Department Elementary Science Fair. Sixty-four
students in grades six through eight entered projects in 14 of the
17 suitable categories in the Junior Science Fair.
More than $2,000 in prize spondulix, donated by businesses
throughout Casper, was awarded.
