where would i put it in the tank? im hoping to pursuit the tank in tile so would i just put it directly on the tile?

While I do use it, but never within the cage. I have seen people glue glass, plexiglass, lenoleum, and lenoleum tiles over it backing bowels the cage though.
you can try this, since yu are planning on using actual tile. Bore about 40-50 holes where the flexx watt is going
