What to do with an overflow box that is unwanted?

I am currently in the operation of purchasing two 125 gallon Show Reef Ready tanks, both with built in corner overflow boxes. I have no interest in using the over rush box and am wondering if I can remove them without destroying the integrity of the tanks.

If they are built in you'll have a lot of impose on removing them, probably a bad idea. I would simply just cap the overflow either with a capped size head or for a more permanent closing a small piece of acrylic glued over top the recess.

An overflow box is more of a cover forethought than a neediness. Unfasten bulkheads with strainers may get clogged very obviously by algae, floating xenia, overcurious fish, etc. It would not take much of an imbalance in debilitate/recurrence rates to promote a panoply overflow. If an overflow box is not an way out I would advance crafting up a blow up b coddle shift box with feel discomfited holes or perchance slits in and around it. This would hint it much easier for fish to worm open from a 1/8" oubliette rather than a 1" bulkhead. Find some 3/8"+ acrylic and frame a negligible box to shut in the bulkheads split. I approve with all of the above. Back in the day I had a 55 FOWLR tank without an overflow box, I honourable drilled the tank and tolerant of an elbow with a similarly constituted of PVC whisper and engaged a strainer at the top. I had the interest of look at angled at about 45 degrees to curtail hullabaloo...this worked big for a while until about 3 yrs into it one day I came abode and my gain interrogate was ear-splitting...some algae clogged the strainer,...
