How should I clean an aquarium with glass beads and small rocks?

Like, with tanks with gravel you use a gravel vacuum, but that wouldn't toil with glass beads and small rocks. How can I clean the debris in the rocks with out making a large cloud in the water?? It's a small tank, 10g.
Thanks
The gravel vacuum works with fairly much any bottom except when there is lots of java moss (It sucks it in and gets clogged!) It is surprisingly unvarying so will jiggle the glass beads and rocks enough to get the gunk out.

silly question about algae on glass - Aquarium Advice - Aquarium ...
by lbannie
Ok, I was away for the weekend and came proficient in to a lot of brownish grassy algae all over the glass. I scrubbed it all of the front 3 sides, but since I have a ebon history I can't at the end of the day see it on the back. The snails seem to like it, they are all over it! Should I disappear it on there for them? Does it have any refusing affects? Thanks Guys!
