What is the maintenance schedule for an Eheim 2213 canister filter?

I have this filter for months and everyone has a abundant answer. How often must I change filter media? What do I replace? How do I clean without removing too much bacteria?


you need to launder it once a month as the filter sponges and stones are in a plastic unit ,imprisoned the pump you take all of it out and take the sponges out and rinse in tank water never immature water ,you rinse the stones inside and then fill it up with tank soda water,

I first bought the 2215 for my 20g tank, but when I brought the base and out of the box ... and fetish was prodigious, I used to keep fish in small containers (before I knew superiority ). Can a canister filter sit next to the tank?
