Big Chicago flower show staging a comeback

Something 'wicked' this way comes to the Chicago Flower & Garden Show.
Think rival witches Elphaba and Glinda in the floral fantasies inspired by the Tony-winning sweet. Dressmaker Mannequins serve as stand-ins, modeling dresses woven from real flowers and greenery.
More peaceful, "Miss Saigon" The garden features a koi pond while "Bye, Bye Birdie" flower garden with birdhouses.
When the 16th annual flowerfest opens Saturday on Navy Pier, 28 gardens are designated theater Showstoppers. The show runs through the demonstration 14 in Festival Hall at Navy Pier.
To show director Tony Abruscato, Garden Chicago Shakespeare Theater is inevitable. An Apartment-Dweller who grows rosemary, thyme and basil in pots balcony, each summer, keeping it extended plot of grass by the brother of "Romeo and Juliet" fame. But he has eyes only Plants, not Friar Laurence and Juliet Grand costumes.
"My creative director just told me, 'Quit eat rosemary,' he said, laughing.
